Ran

Yesterday was the Yucaipa community run. They usually have it on the day of the Iris Festival, but this year they moved it to the weekend before. My running partner Ranelle and I have run the 10K for the past 3 years; it is a double loop, and even though it is only 6 miles it is a bear everytime for some unknown reason. Maybe its the psychology of having to run it TWICE to get to 6 miles.

Ranelle was off on family duty this year, however, and I have been stationary for the past several weeks because of a minor back injury. I just started running again this week, but pulling off 6 miles yesterday was asking too much, so I ran the 5K. Yay for me! It was only the one loop, and was rather nice. Fun enough to get out and enjoy with others game enough to take on the community run.

The usual pancake breakfast (free for runners) was morphed into a hot dog barbeque, however, and that was just not cool. I don't want to eat hot dogs after running, I want pancakes with syrup, sausage, eggs, orange juice. I LOVE races that offer a pancake breakfast afterward. Well, so I returned home with an empty belly and had my post-run glass of chocolate milk instead.
